While the Dead Eyes Duo remain humble and committed to our mission of getting better, Kirk and I are glad to have executed three kill shots with the first three shots taken this past weekend with the new gear on the Musgrove Family ranch.

The image shows a box of Hornady Precision Hunter ammunition containing 20 cartridges. The box is dark gray with white and red text. Next to the box, there is a plastic tray holding 17 brass cartridges with visible primers. Additionally, three loose cartridges are standing upright on the wooden surface beside the tray.

Friday Evening Hunt

Pig number one was shot on Friday evening. For nearly five minutes I was tracking the pig moving between corn piles and in-and-out of the brush, before the video starts. The first 15 seconds of the video is system generated audio description. Kirk was not providing any directional commands because at this point, we just had to remain steady and wait on the pig to give us a good broadside shot. The remaining 10 seconds consists of Kirk and I celebrating the shot. It was good to hear Kirk’s excited “smoked it” call.

Saturday Morning Hunt

Pig number two was shot on Saturday morning. This time the system generated audio description and Kirk providing directional commands are both captured on the video. Once again, Kirk was able to make a “smoked it” call.

Saturday Evening Hunt

You guessed it. Pig number three was shot on Saturday evening. On the video, it is difficult to hear Kirk’s directional commands. You do hear “fire”. After the shot the system generated audio description explains “hogs scatter”, while Kirk proclaims, “we got two”.

The pig we were targeting with the shot was found about five yards to the right of where we shot it. Pig number four was dropped with the third shot, but I could not get on target quickly enough for a follow-up shot. It did “scatter” and could not be found. To keep us humble, it is probably best the Dead Eyes Duo only got three pigs with three shots.
