This is an update to an earlier Making Friends And Getting The Gear post. The earlier post provides contact information for the people who assisted and the vendors used as I gathered the initial gear needed to allow me to start hunting as a totally blind man. I have found that as with many challenges, “making the right connections and using the correct technology can turn something you did not think was possible into an accomplishment”.
To get ready for the 2024/2025 whitetail deer season, I have purchased a Pulsar Digex C50 scope. The new scope is the most significant change in my gear. To learn about my first shots with the new scope, including a streaming video using the Stream Vision 2 application, you can read the Home On The Range post.
The below picture shows my Winchester XPR 300 Win Mag equipped with a Pulsar Digex C50 scope mounted on a BOG Death Grip tripod. Yes, it is a left-handed bolt as I learned to shoot lefthanded because way back in the day my left eye was my master eye. Today, both of my eyes are “Dead Eyes”.

You can read the hunting page to learn about my limited success as an early childhood low vision hunter or check out all the hunting post to learn how I now hunt totally blind with the assistance from my hunting companion, Kirk Musgrove.
