You made that important step and purchased a CRONOS Audio-Slalom signal generator. the official ASSG approved by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). Now you want to start skiing sets to take your audio slalom to the competitive level.
The following was taken from IWWF Disabled Rules, specifically D19.02: Audio slalom signal generator (ASSG).
The ASSG as fitted to the towboat needs to be checked to verify the ASSG measures the course width correctly within the tolerance specified below. Verification of the signal generation for pylon mounted ASSGs may be done with reference to a point on the rope one tenth of the distance from the pylon to the handle (the ‘homologation point’). So, for a rope length of 18.25 m, the homologation point is 1.825 m from the pylon, the ASSG set in training mode (training mode is used to disable time limitation) and a rope length set to 18.25 m. The ASSG must generate the signal when the homologation point is crossed. This homologation point needs to be between 88.5 cm and 91.5 cm from the centerline on both sides measured on the perpendicular line A-C (as shown on the drawing). Points A and C are both 1.825 m from the pylon. Point B is the centerline used to calibrate the ASSG.
